ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Aug. 24, 2006--What do millions of college sports fans have in common across the United States? They will all be showing their school spirit by wearing their college colors on September 1.

College Colors Day, a new "holiday", coincides with "back to campus" and the kick-off of the college football season. College Colors Day seeks to celebrate and promote the traditions and spirit that drive collegiate athletics by encouraging fans, alumni, and students from across the country to wear apparel of their favorite college throughout the day of September 1, 2006.

"We need every college fan out there to wear their college gear on September 1 to celebrate their favorite college or university," said Pat Battle, president and CEO for the Collegiate Licensing Company, the licensing representative for more than 200 colleges, universities, bowl games, athletic conferences, The Heisman Trophy, and the NCAA.

The second annual College Colors Day will be capped off by a Kenny Chesney concert performance at the Saavis Center in St. Louis (Mo.), saluting College Colors Day titled The Road & The Radio Tour Salutes College Colors Day and a gridiron match-up, televised on ESPN, between Fresno State University and the University of Nevada in the inaugural College Colors Day Classic football game.
