NOTEBOOKS FOR STUDENTS ON THE MOVE
(CPWIRE) November 1, 1999 -- The popularity of
mobile technology trends is growing rapidly, especially for computer notebooks. Internet
appliances are just around the corner, PCs are getting flatter and notebooks are now small
enough to fit in your handbag.
Some of the newer notebook models let users send and receive photos and videos, as well as
conduct video conferencing (not a bad invention for those long distance relationships).
Acer America`s newest notebook features all this and comes complete with an ethernet
connection for Internet access at a price that wont mean working three part time
jobs to afford it.
This new notebook, called the Acer TravelMate 340, comes from a family of notebooks that
recently won Mobile Computing Magazines 1st Class Award, and is Windows 2000
compliant. The notebook also features some notable highlights:
* It comes with all the standard ports built into the unit, eliminating the need of
external ports.
* The TravelMate 340 features a magnesium alloy casing for extra wear and tear.
* The notebook weighs only about four pounds which will give your shoulders a break.
''Fast has just gotten faster,'' said Todd Osborne, the senior director of marketing for
Acer America. ''The Acer TravelMate 340 now provides an extremely lightweight solution
with lightening fast performance for students on the move.''
