Agreements with Learfield Communications, Enlighten Sports, and ISP Sports Deliver Live Video and Audio on Yahoo! Sports, the Web`s No. 1 Sports Site
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Aug. 31, 2000--As the 2000-2001 collegiate athletic season officially kicks-off this weekend, displaced sports fans and alumni everywhere can now better follow their favorite college teams through live video and audio broadcasts on Yahoo! Sports(a), the Web`s most popular sports site for June 2000(b) according to a custom report provided by Media Metrix.
Today, Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO), a leading global Internet communications, commerce, and media company, announced it has signed separate agreements with three sports marketing and Web development organizations -- Learfield Communications, Enlighten Sports and ISP Sports.
Through the agreements, Yahoo! will serve as the exclusive broadcast services provider to the 22 colleges and universities they collectively represent, including the universities of Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina and Syracuse. As part of these agreements, college sports fans will have access to live video from various men`s and women`s basketball, women`s volleyball, and ice hockey teams, along with a number of coaches` shows. Fans can also enjoy live game audio for football, men`s and women`s basketball, some additional sports, live and archived coaches` shows, and selected press conferences.
