The 2nd Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans
Eminem, Stone Temple Pilots, Counting Crows, Cypress Hill, 311, Live, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals and Many Other of Today`s Supernatural Acts Stir Up the Spirits At the 2nd Voodoo Music Festival(R) in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sept. 6, 2000--The VOODOO MUSIC(R) FESTIVAL will return for its second year Saturday, October 28th with a mystical line-up that will rock this world and raise the spirits. Confirmed acts include Stone Temple Pilots, Eminem, 311, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, Cypress Hill, Counting Crows, Live, Blues Traveler, Cowboy Mouth, Guster, Section 8, Black Eyed Peas, Galactic, The Getaway People, and Tuba.
Set amongst the tall oaks and spooky swamps of New Orleans` City Park, VOODOO will present three stages of music throughout the park, along with an activity-filled interactive village sponsored by Shooting Gallery and a vendor village for concertgoers to explore. VOODOO organizers are also working with Shooting Gallery to create Shooting Gallery`s Worship the Music Nighttime Concert Series -- a weekend-long series of all-night music events and parties. Festivities begin on Thursday, October 26th, providing an all-out entertainment
experience for a complete New Orleans Halloween weekend celebration.
Making its debut last October 31st, VOODOO brought an eclectic mix of some of today`s biggest acts to New Orleans for a day-long groundbreaking ritual. New Orleans` rich and very unique heritage presented the perfect setting for this new kind of music festival -- created for the sole purpose of worshipping and celebrating music. Mixing Caribbean, European, and American traditions, the city is a world of its own. Aptly named, VOODOO brought us a transforming,
spiritual and powerful musical happening. However, last year was just the beginning. Envisioned as a festival that would become an annual
event, this year`s concert is being taken a step further, promising to be bigger in spirit and scope.
Those who cannot make the trip to New Orleans can catch all the action on
www.voodoomusicfest.com, www.rollingstone.com, or
www.icast.com -- all of whom will be webcasting from each of the three stages.
The VOODOO MUSIC(R) FESTIVAL is created and produced by Rehage Entertainment, Inc. and presented by Vedalabs. Stage sponsors are Shooting Gallery, RollingStone.com, iCAST, and Cox Communications. Additional sponsors include Gambit Weekly, Yahoo! Internet life, KKND, US Airways, Sprint PCS, NOLA.com, Max Racks, and Guitar Center.
