VENICE, Calif.--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Feb 6, 2002--Gold`s Gym International announced the launch of its new Body Transformation Contest, offering big cash prizes to the winners. ''The Body Transformation contest is very popular with students, because it`s fun, it promotes friendly competition and the personal satisfaction rewards are immeasurable'', said Derek Barton, Vice President of Marketing, Gold`s Gym International. ''The thousands of dollars in prize money that we are offering is a wonderful incentive to young people in college.''

Here`s How It Works:
Both men and women alike, can enter any time between now and March 31, 2002 (the end date will be determined twelve weeks from start date). The winners will be announced in August 2002. There will be two grand-prize winners (one male and one female) who will each win $20,000, a one-year membership to Gold`s Gym and the prestigious Golds Gym Statuette. There will be eight first-place winners; one male and one female from each age category (18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+). First place winners receive $5,000 each and a one-year membership and eight runner-ups receive $1,000 each and a one-year membership.

The judging will be based on the changes the contestants make during the twelve weeks as reflected by their before and after pictures (75%); on the change in their measurements (15%) and on the content in their essay (10%). In a separate category, Gold`s Gym will also offer the contest to their employees. There will be two employee winners (one male one female) they will each win $5,000 and a Gold`s Gym Statuette.
