Monster Calls for Interested Students to Apply Today!

MAYNARD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Mar 17, 2003--Monster, the leading global online careers property, and its subsidiary Making it Count, today announced the acceptance of applications for participation in its second annual Diversity Leadership Programs. Monster`s Diversity Leadership Programs invite incoming college juniors and seniors (Fall 2003) from diverse ethnic backgrounds to participate in a series of workshops and seminars designed to help students develop their business skills, explore career opportunities, and plan their future in a fun and exciting environment. Interested students are encouraged to visit https://diversity.mic.monster.com/ to learn about the program and apply to become a part of this great opportunity.

The program had its successful beginning last year in August 2002 with conferences held at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA; St. John`s University in New York, NY; and the University of Chicago. Through the Diversity Leadership Programs, Monster teaches highly motivated and successful students from diverse backgrounds the importance of learning and building the real-world business skills necessary for long-term achievement in their professional careers. Each weekend conference provides students with an opportunity to attend seminars exploring areas such as networking, career development, interviewing, resume building, and workplace diversity in an interactive and dynamic environment, all presented by industry professionals.

The weekend conferences are corporately sponsored, enabling the conference program, food and accommodations to be offered at no cost to students. Corporate sponsors attend each conference to meet students and offer them an opportunity to learn more about their organizations. For each of the six Diversity Leadership Program conferences, the National Platinum sponsor is PricewaterhouseCoopers and the National Gold Sponsor is Capital One, who will also be giving away $12,000 in scholarships during and after the weekend events.

This year, Monster will be hosting the event in six cities nationwide. Having to provide their own transportation, accepted students will be assigned to the location to which they are closest during the summer months:

- July 12-13, University of Texas at Arlington (Dallas)
- July 19-20, Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles)
- July 26-27, Catholic University (Washington D.C.)
- Aug 2-3, Emory University (Atlanta)
- Aug 9-10, St. John`s University (New York)
- Aug 16-17, University of Chicago

Additional details regarding the program and its sponsors are provided on the website (https://diversity.mic.monster.com/). There, interested students will also find interviews from last year`s attendees and why Monster`s Diversity Leadership Program truly is an opportunity of a lifetime!
