Moviegoers Ensure They Won’t Be Sold Out of Long-Awaited Film
HOLLYWOOD--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Oct 31, 2001--The journey to Hogwarts begins tomorrow for millions of eager moviegoers around the country.
Fandango, the nation’s fastest-growing movie-ticketing company, announced that advance tickets for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” will be available beginning Thursday, Nov. 1. Fandango offers tickets for more than 5,500 movie screens at seven exhibitors nationwide: Carmike Cinemas, Century Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, Edwards Theatres, General Cinemas, Loews-Cineplex Entertainment and Regal Cinemas.
Starting Nov. 1, excited “Harry Potter” fans can purchase tickets for opening day, Nov. 16, or any show up to 14 days in advance.
“We have had a huge number of requests for advance tickets from people all around the country in the past few weeks,” said Art Levitt, president and CEO of Fandango Inc., “and we’re just as excited to be offering tickets for the movie as they are to see it.”
In nearly two dozen cities around the country, Fandango users can buy their tickets for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and print them out at home, eliminating the need to wait in line at the theater box office. However, Levitt noted, “We definitely recommend that people arrive at the theater early to get the best seats, because there are a lot of people waiting to see this film.”
At Fandango’s website, www.fandango.com, moviegoers can purchase tickets for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” or any movie playing at partner theaters by using a Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card. All price levels of tickets can be purchased - including children, senior citizen and bargain matinees - although appropriate ID will be required at the theater for age-restricted tickets.
Fandango offers advance tickets for more than 5,500 movie screens nationwide through its website at www.fandango.com and by telephone at 1-800-555-TELL (say, “Movies.”)
