MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Aug 31, 2001--As students return to school in 2001, they will have a new kind of tool available to them - a database for notes, quotes and bibliography called NoteWorthy Virtual Notecards(tm) from IntelliGents, LLC.

NoteWorthy is a database application in which students, professors, journalists and other professional researchers can store, organize and retrieve their notes, quotes and bibliographic references. NoteWorthy operates on the metaphor of ''Virtual Notecards'', and allows researchers to store and organize notes on their computers much as they do with 3x5'' index cards, only with the added power of lightning-fast searching and sorting.

Paper index cards are were a great industrial-age idea for storing and organizing textual information, but they are slow and cumbersome by computer-age standards. NoteWorthy does for index cards what word-processors did for writing or typing on paper: it takes a familiar technology, and turbo-charges it with the speed and power of the computer age.

NoteWorthy allows you to store millions of fully-formatted notes and quotes up to hundreds of pages in length, along with keywords and links to bibliographic information. Existing electronic bibliographies can be imported from bibliographic programs such as EndNote and ProCite and integrated with a NoteWorthy database. Information can be cut and pasted with other programs and from the web, and entries can be hot-linked to web locations.

NoteWorthy Virtual Notecards is a desktop application. NoteWorthy for Macintosh was released in February of 2001. NoteWorthy for Windows is being released in September of 2001 for the new school year.. Data can be exchanged between the Mac and Windows versions. NoteWorthy for Macintosh requires a PowerPC chip running System 8.5 or later. NoteWorthy for Windows requires a Pentium-based PC running Windows 95 or later.

NoteWorthy sells for $89 from the IntelliGents website (http://www.intelli-gents.com), and can be downloaded for a free 45-day trial before purchase. Information about discounts for volume purchases and site licensing can also be found at the website. A .pdf brochure can be downloaded at http://www.intelli-gents.com/downloads/nwFlyer.sit.hqx. A longer White Paper is available at http://www.intelli-gents.com/pdfs/NW_White_Paper.pdf.

IntelliGents, LLC is located in the State of Connecticut, and was organized as an LLC in 1999.

NoteWorthy was developed in 4th Dimension, a relational database environment developed and marketed by 4D, Inc. (http://www.4d.com)
