TORONTO & STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Mar 12, 2002--WrestleMania(R) X8 will be held in Toronto this weekend and brings with it a legendary match-up, a three-day fan festival, a host of television appearances, and a promise to give something back to the community.

On March 17, more than 65,000 fans are expected to attend WrestleMania(R) X8 at Toronto`s SkyDome and millions more around the world will watch via Pay-Per-View.

This year, fans will witness one of the most anticipated matches in World Wrestling Federation(R) history - World Wrestling Federation(R) Superstar The Rock(R) against legendary Superstar Hollywood Hulk Hogan(TM). Other matches include Chris Jericho(TM) vs. Triple H(TM), for the Undisputed World Wrestling Federation(R) Championship, Stone Cold Steve Austin(TM) vs. Scott Hall(TM), and Undertaker(R) vs. Ric Flair(TM).

Fans from 15 countries, including Canada, United States, Japan, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Australia will be attending WrestleMania(R) weekend. The event will be broadcast live on Pay-Per-View to audiences in 13 countries including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan, among others.

WrestleMania(R) X8 is sold out, however some tickets reserved for production purposes are expected to be released in the days leading up to the event. FAN AXXESS(TM)

WrestleMania(R) X8 Weekend kicks off with FAN AXXESS(TM), the interactive, behind-the-scenes World Wrestling Federation(R) fan festival that allows fans to get up close and personal with their favorite World Wrestling Federation(R) Superstars. It will be held Thursday, March 14, through Saturday, March 16, at the Automotive Building at The National Trade Centre at Exhibition Place in downtown Toronto.

Among the many features included as part of the event are: Superstar autograph sessions and photo opportunities, interactive attractions, icons and artifacts representing the history of the Federation, as well as officially licensed souvenirs and collectables. There will also be acres of exhibits, demonstration matches, and displays of all kinds. Plus, Toronto basketball stars Jerome Williams and Tracy Murray, as well as Will Sasso from MadTV, will be a part of the festivities.

There are a total of six sessions, however, only a handful of tickets remain. Tickets are $40 (approximately $26 U.S. plus applicable service charges) per session and are available at all Ontario Ticketmaster locations, including Sunrise Records. WrestleMania(R) X8 CALENDAR

Throughout WrestleMania(R) X8 week there will be television specials and appearances by World Wrestling Federation(R) Superstars.

Tuesday, March 12
- WWF Flashback: The History of WrestleMania(R) is scheduled to air on The New TNN, Tuesday, March 12th at 9:00pm ET in the United States.

Wednesday, March 13
- Triple H(TM) will be a guest on Late Night with Conan O`Brien on NBC at 12:35am ET (US).

- Chris Jericho(TM), Torrie Wilson(TM) and Christian(TM) will be guests on Open Mike with Mike Bullard. The program is slated to air at 10:00pm ET on the Comedy Network and again at midnight on CTV (Canada).

- Black Entertainment Television (BET) program titled Life Track is profiling Jazz(TM), Devon(TM) and Jonathan Coachman(TM) on Wednesday at 8:30pm. The program takes a behind-the-scenes look at African Americans who are making a positive impact in their chosen profession.

- UPN (US) will air a one-hour World Wrestling Federation(R) Divas special titled Sex on the Beach from 9:00pm-10:00pm ET that will feature the unveiling of the World Wrestling Federation(R) Divas 2002 swimsuit issue cover girl.

Thursday, March 14
- Ric Flair(TM) will go one-on-one on Off the Record with Michael Landsberg. Off The Record airs Thursday night at 7:30pm on TSN (Canada).

Friday, March 15
- Linda McMahon, Ric Flair(TM), and Christian(TM) will be guests on CanadaAM, which will be broadcast live from FAN AXXESS(TM). The show airs from 6:00am - 9:00am ET on CTV (Canada).

- Triple H(TM) will go Off the Record with Michael Landsberg, Friday night at 7:30pm ET on TSN (Canada).

- The Hardy Boyz(TM), Scotty 2 Hotty(TM) and Albert(TM) will guest on Electric Circus on Much Music at 9:30pm ET (Canada).

- Triple H(TM) will guest star on Open Mike with Mike Bullard. The show will air at 10:00pm ET on the Comedy Network and again at midnight on CTV (Canada).

Saturday, March 16
- WWF Flashback: The History of WrestleMania(R) is scheduled to air on TSN at 11:30pm ET (Canada).

Sunday, March 17
- Linda McMahon will be featured on TSN`s The Business of Sports at 11:00am ET (Canada)

- Three back to back debut episodes of Off the Record with Michael Landsberg will air on TSN beginning at 1:00pm, featuring Chris Jericho(TM), Undertaker(R) and Jim Ross (Canada)


CHARITABLE EVENTS

World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. has teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) and the Canadian Special Olympics this year at WrestleMania(R) X8. At FAN AXXESS(TM), fans will have an opportunity to be photographed with a World Wrestling Federation(R) Superstar at the Superstar photo booth for a $10 donation, with proceeds benefiting the Canadian Special Olympics. Each day there will be a $5 raffle drawing at each FAN AXXESS(TM) session that will qualify fans for various World Wrestling Federation(R) prize packs. The raffle ticket will also make fans eligible for the grand prize - four ringside seats to WrestleMania(R) X8. A portion of the sales from FAN AXXESS(TM) and WrestleMania(R) X8 will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R).

In the Demonstration Ring at FAN AXXESS(TM) on Saturday, March 16, World Wrestling Federation(R) Superstar The Rock(R) will accept two checks totaling $25,000. The money will be divided equally between the Canadian Special Olympics and the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R).

As part of the presentation, The Rock(R) will join The Mayor of Toronto, His Worship Mel Lastman, a Special Olympian and a Make-A-Wish child in having his favorite dessert.
