Houston to Host Gala Ceremony for Conservation Honorees
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Apr 10, 2002--ChevronTexaco today announced a nationwide call seeking nominations of individuals and organizations for the 48th annual ChevronTexaco Conservation Awards. ''Unsung heroes of the conservation world'' are encouraged to submit entries to the Conservation Awards, which recognize their dedication and sustained commitment to the management and protection of natural resources.
Nominations for the 48th ChevronTexaco Conservation Awards may be submitted now through May 17, 2002. An independent panel of leading conservationists will judge the nominees. Recipients will be honored at a gala ceremony on September 26, 2002 at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Houston, Texas. All honorees will each receive $10,000, a round-trip airfare for two to Houston and two nights` lodging.
More than 1,000 volunteers, professionals and organizations have been recognized since 1954. ChevronTexaco Conservation Award recipients have contributed to the creation of wildlife refuges and preserves, the protection of species, the establishment of park and recreation areas, and the overall heightening of environmental awareness.
