NEW YORK--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sep 4, 2002--News Broadcast Network (NBN) and Collegiate Presswire (CP) announce the formation of the College Radio Wire Network. NBN’s radio releases (text and audio) will be distributed directly to college radio stations in a downloadable and broadcast-ready format.
Beginning September 1st with over 100 stations, the College Radio Wire Network will distribute NBN’s radio releases (text and audio) to its full list of subscribing college radio stations. In addition to the script and MP3 file, the copy will include re-directing links within each story for radio personnel to click-through the email advisory and access additional materials (press releases, contact information).
The new service offers electronic distribution of media advisories and ready-to-air content to a proprietary nationwide network of college and university radio stations. By tapping the potential of Collegiate Presswire`s CP Connect system, the new service includes hyperlinks for radio-station personnel to request or download scripts, press releases or multimedia files for broadcast. In launching The College Radio Wire Network, News Broadcast Network and Collegiate Presswire will allow their clients to tap into the vast potential of the broadcast collegiate media market for their news and media announcements.
Matthew Farlie, co-founder and director of business development for Collegiate Presswire says, “Development began on the new College Radio Wire Network earlier this year, following numerous requests from clients to reach college radio stations. After several months of building the service, the service now features many top college and university radio stations, including stations at Columbia University, New York University, University of Florida, University of Wisconsin, University of Miami, University of Oregon and University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.”
“The synergy between the companies is ideal,“ Farlie notes. “NBN has the volume of news and features our stations are looking for and we have the direct delivery method in place. We fully expect to have over 200 stations as registered users by the late fall.”
NBN’s president, Michael Hill adds, “We are always looking for new ways to increase usage and broadcast exposure for our clients’ stories and the College Radio Wire Network will provide new listeners and wider exposure for our news features.”
NBN will also provide their syndicated programs to Collegiate Presswire for usage on the College Radio Wire Network.
