NEWARK, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sep 19, 2002--Raymond Entertainment Group is now accepting applications for its third annual Mascot Boot Camp to be held in October 25, 26 & 27th at the University of Delaware. Mascot Boot Camp is one-of-a-kind camp that specifically targets performers who dress as a character and whose job is crowd entertainment and interaction. It is an enormous industry ranging from sports mascots to theme park entertainers from characters representing a specific organization to a character which actually is the brand.

Mascot Boot Camp is a fun and intense weekend of training to enhance performance as well as cover many other aspects of the job such as the managing the wearing and caring for your costume, physical demands, business management and logistics. Most importantly it covers the ''art of working a crowd.'' Professional and amateur mascots from all across the country will be represented. At the end of the weekend, the mascots will perform at an event yet to be announced.

''Just looking at the sports mascot industry alone, your are talking about a multi-million dollar industry,'' says David Raymond, head of Raymond Entertainment Group, self-titled as the emperor of fun and games. ''Organizations spend a significant amount of their marketing budget towards character branding because they realize the power of fan loyalty as it pertains to merchandising.''

The boot camp is limited in number to ensure each performer close personal attention by Dave Raymond and his staff. Dave spent more than 16 years as the beloved Phillie Phanatic. He was the performer that brought this character to life for the Philadelphia Phillies and eventually grew it a million-dollar merchandising program. This past summer the Phillie Phanatic was recognized for his contribution to the game at this year`s Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.

Performers looking to make this a successful career can count on Raymond Entertainment making a difference. Over this past year, Raymond Entertainment worked NCAA Basketball and their mascot JJ Jumper. ''Face it from kids to adults, we all enjoy the antics of a great mascot and are all disappointed in a mascot that does nothing,'' says Mark Doughty, lord of the deal at Raymond Entertainment Group.

Raymond Entertainment Group, designs mascot programs for college, minor and professional league teams including the New Orleans Saints, the Cincinnati Reds, the Kannapolis (N.C.) Intimidators, affiliate of Chicago White Sox and The University of Delaware. Raymond Entertainment also developed characters for marketing campaigns and special events. Raymond Entertainment`s own character, Reggy, makes appears across the country. For more information, go to www.raymondeg.com.

MEDIA ARE WELCOME ANY TIME.
ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26, 3PM, DAVE RAYMOND AND THE BOOT CAMP ATTENDEES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEWS.
