NEW YORK--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Apr 22, 2003--Citylife Hotel Group and Riese Restaurants announce the two-week deadline to their Roommate from Hell contest, which rewards both a Collegiate and NonCollegiate prize of a week in New York City, plus meals provided by Riese Restaurants, to the best entry for worst roommate.

''When I see some of these responses, I am so happy I dont have to deal with roommates any more,'' says Stephen J. DeFazio, general manager of Habitat Hotel, the contest headquarters for Citylife. ''But we still think there are tons of untold stories out there. We figure with exam time and spring leases, tensions should be running high enough to add to our pool of applicants.''

Some of the same themes recur in both the College and non-Collegiate groups, such as lack of personal hygiene and inappropriate sexual conduct. The entries have ranged from the gross to the gratuitous.

Excerpts of entries are posted on the Roommate from Hell website ahttps:////www.STAYinNY.com/roommatefromhell/. Here are a few of the panel`s favorite responses, so far:

''One of the things he does that drives me crazy is that he breaks everything! I could have an ancient treasure locked up and padded in 200 layers of bubble wrap, stored in a secret cubby in the attic and hed somehow come across it and find a way to `accidentally` break it.'' - Albuquerque, NM

''She spent hours in the room singing loudly and buck naked in preparation for American Idol auditions.'' - New York, NY

''My roommate used my electric toothbrush as a vibrator and returned it to the charging stand.'' - Collegiate Category

The contest ends May 5, 2003. The winner will be announced May 18, 2003. Runners up receive 3-day packages featuring food and pin money, at two of Citylife`s hotels - Habitat Hotel and Hotel ThirtyThirty.

Entrants are asked to submit, name, address, email and phone, which category they are entering (Collegiate or Non), and where they heard about contest by email to [email protected] or snail mail to Habitat Hotel, Roommate from Hell Contest, 130 East 57th Street, New York, NY 10022.
