Contest Promotes International Education and Understanding

CHESTER, Pa.--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sep 22, 2003--One lucky student will spend two weeks in Russia next summer as the grand prizewinner in the eighth annual StudyAbroad.com Fall Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes is sponsored by Truman State University, GRINT Centre for Education, and STA Travel.

StudyAbroad.com (www.studyabroad.com), a Web site of Educational Directories Unlimited Inc. of Chester, Pa, is the number-one online resource for study abroad education. Each year, the site hosts a study abroad sweepstakes, allowing one winner to experience life in another country.

The grand prize includes a three-week summer study abroad trip to Russia. The winner will also receive full room and board for the three weeks; roundtrip airfare, courtesy of STA Travel; and Russian language courses. The program, room, and board are courtesy of Truman State University and GRINT Centre for Education.

One second prize winner will receive a $500 (U.S.) discount toward the cost of participation in a spring or summer Truman State University study abroad program. A third and fourth prize winner will each receive a $300 discount to be applied toward the cost of participation in a spring or summer Truman State University Russia study abroad program.

''Students often say that cost is the major limiting factor to studying abroad,'' says Mark Shay, CEO of Educational Directories Unlimited. ''This sweepstakes is our way of not only promoting international education, but also to make a student`s dream come true, despite their financial situation.''

A previous StudyAbroad.com Sweepstakes winner, Tina Kasperek of Buffalo, NY, calls winning the contest ''a dream come true.'' She won a semester at the University of North London in London, England.

She recalls, ''I was searching on the Web for study abroad programs and came across the StudyAbroad.com site. I couldn`t believe how comprehensive it was, and I decided to enter the contest. I`m glad I did!''

The grand prize winner will be randomly selected on December 10, 2003. Students can enter to win online no later than 11:59 PM EST on December 1, 2003, and mail entries must be postmarked no later than November 30, 2003.
