Students Offered Easy Access to Professional Engineering and Aerospace Publications
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Dec 14, 2001--In an effort to better prepare engineering students for careers in the engineering and aerospace industries, McGraw-Hill Education is offering them easier access to Aviation Week and Engineering News Record, two of the leading professional publications in these fields.
McGraw-Hill Education publishes a number of textbooks for students in undergraduate and graduate level courses in aeronautics and engineering. These students will now have the opportunity to enhance their education with two trade magazines, also published by The McGraw-Hill Companies, that complement their texts and are read by engineers and professionals in the aviation industry.
''Aviation Week and Engineering News Record are standards in professional practice, and easier access to these publications will benefit the pre-professional student,'' said Ed Stanford, president of McGraw-Hill Higher Education.
Access to Aviation Week and Engineering News Record will help students to gain a greater understanding of how information they are studying in the classroom can be applied in actual engineering careers, and will provide news of current issues and recent developments and changes in these professional disciplines.
''Students crave relevance in their studies. These publications bring the real world into the classroom in a way that`s immediate and compelling,'' said Craig Beytien, vice president of eMarket Development for McGraw-Hill Higher Education. To make it easier for engineering students to receive Aviation Week and Engineering News Record, trade magazines so relevant to the careers they are pursuing, McGraw-Hill Education will offer discounted rates to both publications. Under this special offer, engineering students can receive Aviation Week for 15 weeks for $18.75. The student subscription rate for Engineering News Record is six months or 26 issues for $29.00. Both of these rates represent approximately a 50% discount from the standard subscription rate. ''The special subscription offers are another example of how The McGraw-Hill Companies is continually searching for ways to work together across business units to meet the needs of students and create additional opportunities for learning,'' said Greg Tsichlis, Circulation Marketing Director for Aviation Week & Space Technology.
