Lexington, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Apr 26, 2001--

WHAT: Lexmark International, a U.S. based leading manufacturer of inkjet and laser printers, is offering students across the country the opportunity of a lifetime. Lexmark will award, recognize and provide a monetary prize to three lucky students for their vision and skillful design of the ''digital home of the future.''

Lexmark is accepting student design submissions featuring the integration of technology within the home. In conjunction with Lexmark`s ten-year anniversary, each design should encapsulate the entrant`s vision of the ''digital home of the future'' in the year 2011. The rendering must include two rooms of a home and integrate the use of technology within the home of the future, promote practicality and be aesthetically appealing. In addition to the renderings, each entrant must send in an entry form as well as a one-page summary of their rendering. The renderings will be judged by a Lexmark panel.

Three prizes will be awarded: First Prize: $7,500.00 plus a Lexmark Z52 Color Jetprinter(TM)(retail value $139.00). Second Prize: $2,500.00 plus a Lexmark Z52 Color Jetprinter(TM). Third Prize: $1,000.00 plus a Lexmark Z52 Color Jetprinter(TM).


WHEN: Entries accepted on CD ROM via first class mail from 4/9 - 5/18
Submission deadline: 5/18
Judging of finalist designs: weeks of 5/21 & 6/4
Winners announced: week of 6/14

JUDGING: Submissions shall be judged according to the following criteria, all of which shall be equally weighted:
(a) integration of technology in the home,
