Student Travel Insurance Policy Provides Students with 24-hour “911” Travel and Emergency Assistance Services For As Low As $29 Per Trip

STEVENS POINT, Wis.--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Mar 5, 2002--As sun-starved college students get ready to pack their bags and head south to the most popular Spring Break destinations, Travel Guard International, the nation’s leading provider of travel insurance, announces enhanced assistance services for StudentGuard, the company’s comprehensive student travel protection policy available exclusively online at www.travelguard.com or through travel agents. Starting as low as $29 per trip, the all-inclusive policy now includes Travel Guard’s Livetravel travel agent service, for emergency or last-minute travel changes such as rebooking flights, hotels and ground transportation.

StudentGuard also features coverage for trip cancellation, emergency medical expenses, baggage and travel delay, and lost baggage. Pre-trip advice on passport, visa and immunization requirements, travel safety and health advisories, embassy contacts and weather and currency information are also included in the policy.

For those times when Spring Break becomes more of an adventure than a student may have bargained for, StudentGuard’s 24-hour emergency assistance hotline is also there to help students with emergency cash advances, ticket or passport replacement, medical referrals and even bail bond assistance.

“The perfect Spring Break should be fun for students and worry-free for their parents,” notes John Noel, CEO of Travel Guard International. “StudentGuard is a great way for parents to protect their traveling kids against the unexpected. Many students who run into problems away from home don’t know where to turn for help. StudentGuard’s 24-hour hotline is the equivalent of a worldwide 911 service—students can call anytime of the day, from anywhere in the world, and get expert help from a well-trained assistance coordinator who can help them through virtually any situation.”

StudentGuard is available to persons under 29 years of age, and covers trips up to 14 days long. Consumers with questions on StudentGuard or any of Travel Guard’s comprehensive range of insurance products can call Travel Guard’s 24-hour World Service Center at 1-800-826-1300. Travel Guard is a member company of the Noel Group, based in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Travel Guard is the nation’s leading provider of travel insurance and markets its policies through 16,000 travel agencies and 500 tour operators.
