SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Jul 8, 2002--TrueSpectra (www.truespectra.com), the market leader in image serving software announces the appointment of VP of Engineering Alain Chesnais as President of ACM SIGGRAPH, the Special Interest Group for Computer Graphics and Interactive Technologies.
TrueSpectra Image Server allows companies to easily integrate images into their web applications eliminating tedious and repetitive production tasks, increasing efficiency and improving their site`s performance. TrueSpectra software is in use today with companies such as Lowe`s, Macy`s, and Blockbuster and the company has also entered the education segment at the University of Texas, Austin, California State University, Fullerton, and The Ohio State University.
''We are pleased to have Alain take on this role for such an important organization,'' stated V. David Watkins, President & CEO of TrueSpectra. ''We continue to be committed to industry leadership and to incorporating best practices into our current and future product revisions, ensuring our Image Server continues to be the product of choice for both developers and medium to large companies, due in large part to Alain`s leadership.''
Chesnais has led TrueSpectra`s engineering team since 2000, leading the development and deployment of TrueSpectra`s network services solution, the only image server capable of being deployed over a Content Delivery Network (CDN). In addition, Chesnais has led the development of the recently announced TrueSpectra Image Server v4 that enables a broader set of customers, developers and designers to implement image serving in their web applications.
Prior to TrueSpectra, he was the Director of Engineering and Business Manager for Design Visualization Solutions at Alias|wavefront and has done consulting for Apple France and IBM Europe. He has strong backgrounds in the fields of digital imaging and Internet infrastructure.
Chesnais has made significant contributions in his previous leadership roles in ACM SIGGRAPH since 1989, first as chair of the Paris chapter, and most recently serving on the ACM Executive Committee and the ACM Council, and he remains committed to action. ''By identifying new trends and technologies, ACM SIGGRAPH has become a driving force in the computer graphics field and I plan to continue and expand our focus in this area,'' Chesnais said. ''We have a history of exploring leading-edge technologies and continually educating our membership through our main conference and other venues, such as workshops and local chapter activities, and will build on these activities as we continue to provide leadership and challenge our membership.''
