`Bullitproof` Breaks out at Rock Radio, First Single from New Zealand Band`s Debut U.S. Album Due in February, Produced by Josh Abraham

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Jan 13, 2003--Pacifier sets first major American tour February-April with Trust Company

Arista recording group Pacifier, named Artist of the Year, Best Rock Act, and Hardest Working Band by Rolling Stone Australia, is making itself known across America in an explosive way.

As their debut U.S. single, ''Bullitproof,'' takes off at Active Rock, Mainstream Rock and Alternative radio formats, Pacifier will be heading out on their first North American tour at the top of February it was announced today by Antonio ''L.A.'' Reid, president and CEO, Arista Records. On the road with Trust Company, the tour is expected to start in Montgomery, Alabama on February 4th.

''Bullitproof'' is the first single from PACIFIER, the band`s self-titled debut album due to be released next month, produced by Josh Abraham (known for his work with Limp Bizkit, Staind, and Unwritten Law). Contributors include Limp Bizkit`s DJ Lethal and Stone Temple Pilots` Scott Weiland on ''Coming Down.'' Other key tracks on the album include ''Comfort Me,'' ''Everything,'' ''Walls,'' and ''Just a Shadow.'' The video for ''Bullitproof'' was directed in New York by the three-person team called IF/THEN, who recently completed 311`s ''I`ll Be Here For A While.''

PACIFIER released several cds in their native land of New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom under the moniker Shihad. The most recent album, 1999`s The General Electric, drew raves from Iggy Pop, Metallica and John Spencer Blues Explosion. As reported in www.pacifiermusic.com, the band began recording sessions for the new album in L.A. in early-September 2001, when history intervened. They decided to change their name to Pacifier, title of the third single track from General Electric.

Pacifier - Jon Toogood on guitar and lead vocals, Phil Knight on lead guitar and backing vocals, bassist and backing vocals Karl Kippenberger, and drummer and backing vocals Tom Larkin - is a quartet of committed road warriors who have survived the notoriously harsh proving grounds Down Under.
