No Limits program features high intensity rafting combined with lodging and meals

THE FORKS, Maine--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Mar 25, 2003--College age adults seeking a great getaway bargain need to look no further than Northern Outdoors, Maines Outdoor Adventure Resort. New for the 2003 season, the company has announced five affordable adventure packages specifically designed for student adventurers on a tight budget. Two- and three-day raft and sportyak programs are to be offered from May to October on the Class 3 to 5 Kennebec, Dead, and Penobscot Rivers of central Maine.

According to the outfitter, prime time for the best bargains and finest water conditions are during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and October. These are the months youll be most likely to find the resort and rafts populated by fun-loving college students and alumni. One of Northern Outdoors No Limits packages is labeled the Affordable Adventure. Offered in May and October participants arrive at the resort and lodge overnight in a cabin tent. The next morning they are treated to a breakfast buffet before embarking on a full day raft trip down the Kennebec River with lunch included. The cost for the full package is just $66.95 per person.

Kyle Hockmeyer, Northern Outdoors guide and Director of College Outreach offers his advice, Early and late season whitewater trips are truly the best kept secret in the rafting industry. For those in the know its the best time to go. Typically, these trips are very affordable, with awesome whitewater and fewer people. Due to the influx of young adults looking for low frills, high thrills adventure the outfitter is able to group friends and singles together in a fun and hassle-free atmosphere.

But Northern Outdoors is quick to point out that it is definitely not interested in attracting individuals or groups in search of wild outdoor party packages. The brochure clearly states, Northern Outdoors is a place where people come to spend time with friends and seek adventure in the wilderness. We certainly encourage everyone to have a good time, but anyone who conducts themselves in an unruly manner or is offensive to others is likely to be asked to leave without a refund.

No other adventure resort offers such a complete package. The facilities, amenities, and equipment are unmatched, claims Northern Outdoors president Russell Walters. College students want an exciting, memorable trip without the stress of pulling it all together. By packaging meals, accommodations, and adventure trips together, we maximize convenience and affordability.
