TRACY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sep 14, 2004--Petz Enterprises, Inc. (PEI) producers of the popular TaxBrain(R) Online Tax Center (www.taxbrain.com), urge working students to file their taxes using the Internet, speeding-up receipt of desperately needed tax refunds. Any student due a refund for work in 2003 and who has not filed has until October 15, 2004, with no penalty. At www.taxbrain.com, an experienced tax professional will answer any questions, free of charge.

Citing skyrocketing tuition fees and reduced availability of student aid, Leroy Petz Sr., President of Petz Enterprises, Inc. commented, ''Figures from The State Public Interest Research Groups (PIRG) indicated that 74% of all full-time students worked while attending school. We believe that this figure will continue to rise as the gap of aid to tuition continues to widen. The good news, of course, is that almost all college students can do their taxes quickly and easily via the Internet.''

The report, based on the National Postsecondary Student Aid Survey (NPSAS), also indicated that 63% of all full-time working students who worked 2-plus hours per week believed they could not afford college if they did not work.

''As a consequence, working students have money deducted from their hard-earned wages that often goes unclaimed - money they can only collect by filing a tax return, typically a simple form 1040EZ,'' Mr. Petz said.

Mr. Petz added, ''TaxBrain enables students to complete and file a tax return online in an average of thirty minutes. Our system calculates any federal and state tax refunds due, which are received within ten working days either by check or electronic transfer. This enables students to plan on tax refunds and receive their money at the earliest opportunity.''
