LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Feb 28, 2005--Fox Soccer Channel announced today that Brighton Entertainment, a New York-based production company, will produce and package Fox Soccer USA, a new half-hour series set to debut on the channel in April. The announcement was made by David Sternberg, General Manager of Fox Soccer Channel. The channel, formerly called Fox Sports World, launched across the nation two weeks ago to 20 million cable and satellite subscribers.

Fox Soccer USA fuses together the rising pop soccer culture across the nation in this weekly show that`s filled with news and features about what Generations X, Y and Z are doing on and off the field. From the game itself to its fashion, music and the newest techno must-haves, Fox Soccer USA profiles trends in the emerging soccer nation to engage viewers in everything they need to know about the beautiful game.

''We`re pleased to have Brighton Entertainment onboard to orchestrate this new series for Fox Soccer Channel,'' said Sternberg. ''We are confident that the show will have the right blend of edgy, informative and entertaining content to attract a young, soccer-savvy audience.''

Added Dermot McQuarrie, Senior Vice President of Production and Programming for Fox Sports International, ''In addition to Brighton`s production expertise in entertainment and music, the company has produced several live soccer events for Fox Sports International that were viewed worldwide. We look forward to expanding our relationship with Brighton with this new program.''

''Our goal is to create a show that will raise awareness of American soccer by mixing pop-culture with human interest stories,'' said Brad J. Fuss, President and Executive Producer of Brighton Entertainment who will oversee Fox Soccer USA`s production.

The popularity of soccer in the U.S. is surging across both the professional and amateur levels. Registration in U.S. youth soccer programs now exceeds that of baseball, football and basketball. The sport has given rise to a distinctive lifestyle, attracting youth across the U.S., and Fox Soccer USA will look to capture this fast-evolving culture.

Production for Fox Soccer USA is set to begin in about two weeks. Plans call for the show to be hosted by a male and female team with features that will include in-depth profiles (Main Attractions) that highlight athletes, coaches, mentors and college, high school and youth programs. Viewers will also be given the opportunity to participate in the show.
