LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Mar 31, 2005--Fox Soccer Channel will air the Los Angeles Galaxy and Columbus Crew`s first game of the season live on Saturday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. ET. Saturday`s game will mark the beginning of Major League Soccer`s 10th anniversary celebration, a milestone for professional U.S. soccer. Fox Soccer Channel`s coverage of the MLS 10th anniversary season includes telecasts of the league`s two new expansion teams Real Salt Lake and the CD Chivas USA. Viewers will see legendary players like Youri Djorkaeff and Ramon Ramirez, plus international stars Amado Guevara, Damani Ralph and Jaime Moreno on the pitch this season.
The Crew`s home opener against the LA Galaxy will feature its new midfielder Mario Rodriguez, on loan from the Municipal of Guatemala. Columbus will be vying to keep its MLS record 18-game regular season unbeaten streak. The Galaxy will feature several international players, who will be making their MLS debuts, including Costa Ricans Pablo Chinchilla and Michael Umana, as well as Guatemala national team captain Guillermo Ramirez, and Brazilians Pablo Nagamura and Ednaldo de Conceicao. The Galaxy will be looking to reverse its history with the Crew, the only team against whom they have a losing record.
