NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Mar 9, 2005--Jack Johnson`s ''In Between Dreams'' enters the charts this week at #3! Released on March 1st, ''In Between Dreams'' is Johnson`s 3rd full-length recording and 3rd in a series of successful campaigns. From touring to record sales, Jack Johnson has shown that dedication, patience and passion pay off. Both previous releases, the 2001 debut ''Brushfire Fairytales'' and 2003`s ''On and On'' have been certified platinum.

''In Between Dreams'' is the first music CD to be released with the 1% for the Planet logo. 1% for the Planet (1% FTP) is an alliance of businesses committed to leveraging their resources to create a healthier planet. Members donate at least 1% of their annual net revenues to environmental organizations worldwide. Jack Johnson and his record label Brushfire Records have been members of 1% FTP since 2003.

Jack Johnson`s extensive summer tour begins August 1st in Houston, Texas at the Verizon Wireless Theater. The dates cover over 30 markets throughout the US and Canada and end on September 17th in Toronto at the Molson Amphitheatre. Highlights include: Denver`s Red Rocks, The Gorge (outside of Seattle), 2 nights in NYC`s Central Park, RIMAC Field in San Diego and 2 nights at the Greek Theater in Berkeley. Pre-sale tickets will be available thru www.jackjohnsonmusic.com. General public on sales for most dates is March 19th. Check jackjohnsonmusic.com for specific on sale dates and times by market. Special guests on the dates will be ALO and Matt Costa.

In a responsible effort to take the environment into account when planning his next tour, Jack Johnson has come up with an outline of Earth-friendly initiatives to cover his US summer tour dates. The actions will cover a wide range of the tour business, from travel to merchandise.

Eco-Actions include:

-- Conversion to Bio-Diesel. The tour will run all buses and trucks on Bio-Diesel fuel.

-- Recycling & Food Donations. The tour catering crew will recycle all food and beverage containers and will donate left over food to local shelters with the Rock and Wrap It Up organization (rockandwrapitup.org).

-- Venue Updates. The tour rider will contain suggested earth-friendly actions that venues can take to reduce their negative environmental impact, including on-site recycling and the use of low energy light bulbs.

-- Eco-friendly tour merchandise. T-shirts will be made from organic cotton. Tour posters and CD packaging will use 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper.

-- Tabling by environmental groups. Local environmental groups certified by 1% for the Planet will be tabling at shows.

-- Enhances CD/DVD. Net proceeds from a new enhanced CD/DVD will be donated to the 1% for the Planet non-profit groups present at the shows. In addition, $1 will go to offset the CO2 emissions produced by the concertgoers` travel to the show. The CD/DVD will contain exclusive music by Jack Johnson, behind the scenes footage of the making of In Between Dreams, excerpts from the Kokua documentary, scenes from A Brokedown Melody and a preview of the upcoming Jack Johnson Live in Japan movie.

-- CO2 Offsets & Climate-Neutral Certification. After all the possible actions have been taken to reduce the environmental impact of the tour; the remaining CO2 emissions will be calculated and ''offset'' so that the entire tour can be certified climate-neutral.

In addition to these guidelines set up for his US summer tour dates, Jack Johnson is proud to host the 2nd annual Kokua Festival on April 16th, 2005 at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Kokua Festival is a benefit event that brings together environmental organizations, eco-friendly businesses, musicians, artists, teachers and community leaders to promote environmental awareness in Hawaii.

This year, the Festival comes to Maui for the first time on April 13th at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center at the A&B; Amphitheater in Kahului, Maui.

Johnson will share the stage at both dates with legendary singer/songwriter Jackson Browne, Hawaiian favorite John Cruz, Afro-Latin-style-masher group Ozomotli, hip-hop infused blues pioneers G Love and Special Sauce, and talented slack key guitarist Kawika Kahiapo and his band Kaukahi.

All proceeds from the Festival will go to the Kokua Hawaii Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting environmental education programs in Hawaii. The funds raised from the 2nd annual Kokua Festival will be used to further support and expand the recycling program in schools, sponsor environmental field trips and curriculum development, as well as introduce a school garden education/healthy school lunch program.

Jack Johnson debuts material from his new album ''In Between Dreams'' on his March 12th Saturday Night Live appearance with special guest, David Spade.
