New Free Service Provides 5 Times Speed Improvement for Web Surfing, Email, Downloads, and More

WESTPORT, Conn.--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Apr 12, 2005--Artera Group, Inc., announced today the immediate availability of Rev The Web, a free Internet acceleration service that enables web surfers to access the Internet five times faster through a dial-up line and three times faster through a broadband connection such as DSL or a cable modem. The service also works with ISDN, wireless and satellite, and with nearly all Internet Service Providers.

The free web accelerator can benefit web surfers who do not have high bandwidth connections by improving their dial-up access by five times on average. For those surfers who do have cable modem access, but who are often fighting for bandwidth from a shared access point, including college students both on and off campus, Rev The Web can improve their internet access three fold, a noticeable difference especially when downloading graphics-rich web pages.

Rev The Web uses patent-pending technology to compress and optimize the data that is being served by the web, unlike other programs that simply ''tweak'' Windows settings to address modem speeds. The service is free and can be accessed at www.RevTheWeb.com. It is simple to install and can be downloaded and launched in less than five minutes. Technical support for the new service can be found through the website.

''No one wants to waste time when they`re surfing the Internet, and we have brought to market a solution that eliminates the annoying wait involved with web surfing,'' said Irv Lebovics, Senior Vice President of Sales, Artera Group, Inc. ''This free service provides the answer for many users who want a faster web experience: campus students who need their multimedia information delivered quickly, rural surfers with dial-up access, city inhabitants who are contending for bandwidth with their neighbors, and soccer moms who need to squeeze more minutes out of the day. It is an offering unlike anything else in the market it`s free, it`s fast and it`s easy.''

Rev The Web comes with a Speed Test with which users can test their surfing speed, illustrating how much faster they are accessing the Internet with Rev The Web.

In return for the free service, users fill out a ten-question survey about their interests, and will be served non-intrusive advertising based on this information. Rev The Web protects users` privacy by not collecting any name, address or phone number data. Rev The Web users will have access to a special shopping portal called ''Just For You'' that offers customized deals in a variety of categories, based on the consumer`s interests.

If at any time a user no long wishes to receive ads but still wants to take advantage of the speed benefits of Rev The Web, they can switch to the premium version of the service for $2.95 per month. Benefits of the premium version include:

* An ultra-secure firewall that protects your PC from unauthorized access by hiding your computer from hackers.

* Improving the way your email works by accelerating the delivery of email and the downloading of email attachments such as Microsoft Word(R) and PowerPoint(R) documents.

* Blocking unwanted Internet ads, improving your Internet surfing experience and speeding up the delivery of your requested information.

System requirements of the Rev The Web Service are: Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer version 5.0 or above; Pentium(R) II or higher; Celeron(R) 500Mhz or higher; 64MB of RAM or more; and 200 MB of free disk space. Rev The Web is compatible with all of the following operating systems: Windows(R) 98 Second Edition; Windows(R) Me; Windows(R) 2000; Windows(R) XP.
