To celebrate, GamePro is featuring an exclusive online sweepstakes boasting over $16,000 in prizes from more than 25 sponsors. The grand prize package includes an Alienware ALX PC valued at over $5,000.

Ten first prize winners will each receive game and accessory prize packages worth an estimated $870, while five second prize winners will each receive game and accessory packages valued at $475. 2004 Readers` Choice Awards Revealed

For the 14th consecutive year, GamePro asked its readership of hardcore gamers to weigh in on the top games of the previous year. Halo 2 was voted Game of the Year, a clear winner with 38 percent of the vote; while the expected winner, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, earned 18 percent of the vote. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater came in third with 10 percent of the vote.


Notable winners of Best Games in each genre include:

-- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Best Adventure Game)

-- Prince of Persia: Warrior Within (Best Action Game)

-- Half-Life 2 (Best PC Game)

-- Metroid: Zero Mission (Best Handheld Game)

-- Need for Speed Underground 2 (Best Racing Game)

Sega took the best two out of three sports games with ESPN Major League Baseball 2K4 (Best Baseball Game) and ESPN NBA 2K5 (Best Basketball Game), but EA`s Madden NFL 2005 won for Best Football Game.
