MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Aug. 7, 2006--MakeMusic, Inc. (Nasdaq:MMUS) announced today the release of Finale(R) 2007 for Macintosh(R) and Windows(R) computers. This major upgrade of the world's best-selling music notation software includes a wide variety of new features designed to enhance productivity and offer unprecedented creative options. Users of Finale 2007 will experience:

-- More Robust Performance with Linked Parts

Undisputed as the most powerful music notation software, Finale 2007 raises the bar with incredible speed and productivity features including linked parts. Finale now offers the ability to automatically create and format parts as a score is created; these parts are dynamically linked - always remaining perfectly in sync with the score - but only where this is desirable. The link is intelligent - it knows
when to enforce consistency and when to allow differences. Only Finale offers complete control, with the ability to create separate linked parts from a divisi staff in the score or to show different enharmonic spellings between the part and score.

-- State of the Art: Exclusive Support of Intel-based Macs and More

Finale 2007 is the first music notation software that runs natively on both Intel- and PowerPC-based Macs as well as Windows computers. In addition, users of both Intel- and PowerPC-based Macs will experience new speed and redraw enhancements. KONTAKT(TM) Player 2 is integrated into Finale 2007, employing the latest technology to play back sounds from Garritan Personal Orchestra(R), included free of charge.

-- Creative Control with Video Support and Latin Percussion

Integrated video support represents just one of the many new creative options in Finale 2007. Imported digital video is automatically synchronized with notation as users compose, edit and play back their score, making it easy to write for film and video.

Additional related features include Fit to Time, user-definable frame rates, the ability to write time code to the score and the option to send SMPTE/MTC to external devices - an option not found in other music notation software.

Latin Percussion offers another exclusive choice designed to stimulate creativity. Users can select from a wide variety of authentic rhythms - all correctly notated - and add them to any piece, instantly. Also included are high-quality Latin percussion sounds which ensure that the results sound as good as they look.

Additional cutting-edge features include enhanced Human Playback(R), Update Brackets and Groups, Quick Change, Vertical Collision Remover, updated Playback Controls, enhanced positioning of cross-staff augmentation dots, improved pickup measures, enharmonic spelling in chromatically transposed parts and much more.

"I'm particularly excited about the breadth of new features found in Finale 2007," states Ron Raup, Chief Marketing Officer, MakeMusic, Inc. "Multiple creative options, like synchronized movie playback, automated Latin Percussion, and enhanced Human Playback will help users expand their musical horizons. The benefits of linked parts, Intel-based Macintosh support, and enhanced performance represent a new level of productivity for all users, and engraver-level features including Vertical Collision Remover and Update Brackets and Groups insure effortless perfection on the printed page."

More features, additional details and the Finale 2007 Preview - a multimedia Flash presentation of Finale 2007 highlights - are available at www.finalemusic.com.
