MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sept. 26, 2006--U.S. Bank received the highest ranking for its number of campus card banking partnerships in the United States, according to a 2006 survey by CR80News, a trade publication about the identification technology industry. U.S. Bank tops the list with a total of 28 campus partnerships, nearly 25 percent of the 115 total partnerships from the survey. U.S. Bank had 24 campus card banking partnerships in 2005.

CR80News conducted a similar survey in 2003 of campus card programs with financial institution partnerships. The study found 47 partnerships among participating banks.

"For our 2006 study, we asked representatives of the financial institutions known to our editors as active providers of these services to update their client lists with both new and expired partnerships," said Chris Corum, executive editor, CR80News. "Our study shows that banking partnerships have been increasing at a steady pace of about 17 per year."

"U.S. Bank has been in the campus banking business for ten years, and we're one of the original banks to introduce campus cards and banking to the market," said Whitney Bright, general manager, U.S. Bank Campus Banking. "U.S. Bank will continue to focus on serving educational institutions and students. We have the dedicated resources and team to grow these valuable partnerships, and over the years we have learned what schools, and students, want and need from a bank."

U.S. Bank is one of the top student banking institutions in the nation, providing a comprehensive line of student banking products, including campus ID card programs, student loans, Internet banking, U.S. Bank student checking and savings, and Visa Buxx(R) prepaid spending cards.
