Cypress University Alliance To Hold Two-Day PSoC(R) Professor's Workshop At San Jose State University On March 29-30

Workshop Scheduled so Embedded Systems Conference Attendees can Participate

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--March 5, 2007--Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) today announced that it is hosting a Professor's Workshop at San Jose State University as part of its University Alliance program. The two-day workshop will introduce Cypress's Programmable System-on-Chip(TM) (PSoC(R)) solution and demonstrate how PSoC can enhance the engineering learning experience.

The event will be held Thursday and Friday, March 29-30, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time on March 29 in Room 288 of the Engineering Building at San Jose State University, One Washington Square, San Jose. The workshop is timed to allow Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) attendees to conveniently participate in the workshop prior to the start of the conference. ESC will be held from April 1-5 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose.

The workshop will include an introduction to PSoC and three hands-on lab sessions highlighting the practical application of PSoC in teaching the concepts of pulse wave modulation, analog-to-digital conversion and dynamic reconfiguration. An introduction to Cypress's PSoC Express(TM) visual embedded development software is also part of the workshop. Professors will use a PSoC Express demonstration kit to visually implement an array of applications, and keep the kit free of charge for use in developing coursework that teaches analog, digital and microcontroller concepts as well as developing designs quickly and confidently.
