MALVERN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--May 2, 2007--Education Management Solutions, Inc. (EMS), a leader in comprehensive clinical skills training and performance assessment software applications, and SimMedical, a leader in the creation and management of integrated healthcare simulation training programs, have entered into a joint marketing agreement. The focus of the partnership is on helping healthcare providers improve clinical performance, reduce medical errors and increase patient safety.

"SimMedical is an ideal strategic fit for EMS, offering complementary services such as consulting and design of simulation centers and curriculum for healthcare," said Anurag Singh, President of EMS. "SimMedical brings with it almost 15 years of experience and expertise from one of the largest and most successful simulation centers in the world, the University of Pittsburgh's Peter M. The two companies will jointly offer a combination of products and services that will deliver an end-to-end solution, combining EMS' expertise in skills training and performance evaluation software and audio-video design with SimMedical's simulation solutions.

"Our extensive experience in simulation center design and operational excellence paired with EMS' capabilities will meet the increasing needs for comprehensive training and assessment in healthcare education," said Paul Phrampus, M.D., director of WISER and chief medical officer of SimMedical.

SimMedical CEO Tami Merryman welcomed the partnership as a logical next step for both organizations. "We feel strongly that this partnership will supply a total solution for both new and existing education programs. The result will be a new standard of excellence in simulation-based training."
