Product Collaboration Streamlines Research by Saving Time and Improving Citation Accuracy
POMONA & CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--July 25, 2006--Auto-Graphics, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AUGR), a technology innovator providing library automation solutions for over 35 years, today announced a product collaboration with Thomson ResearchSoft, a global leader in providing integrated information solutions to business and professional customers. The collaboration allows AGent Search to export federated search results for use within Thomson ResearchSoft's EndNote, Reference Manager and ProCite citation software. The new feature, called Direct Export, allows AGent Search users -- including students, researchers and other library patrons -- to locate bibliographic data and create accurate bibliographies for curricula vitae, manuscripts, grant proposals, term papers and other publications. AGent Search can now be used by millions of Thomson ResearchSoft's global users in the academic, government and corporate sectors.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with Thomson ResearchSoft, to provide a more seamless integration of AGent Search's powerful federated search capability with the rich, citation support features of EndNote, Reference Manager and ProCite," said Paul Cope, president of Auto-Graphics. "This new relationship provides an important stepping stone for Auto-Graphics' entry into new markets, particularly
academic and research libraries, helping us gain momentum while adding significant value to our current and future clients. Direct Export is one of several enhancements we plan to make in our goal to continually improve AGent Search to better serve our customers' needs."
Earlier this year, Auto-Graphics re-introduced AGent Search with expanded features. The powerful web services application enables searching across multiple, disparate, free and proprietary content sources simultaneously, while delivering aggregated results. Already in use by more than 5,000 libraries in North America, AGent Search empowers library patrons and staff to easily and efficiently find the
information they seek, while taking less time and effort to manage and use available electronic resources. Libraries equipped with AGent Search can now more effectively meet their students' and patrons' needs for properly and accurately citing those resources.
Direct Export automates the creation of bibliographies for thousands of scholarly publications, helping to save patrons and students time normally spent manually citing resources and increasing the accuracy of citations. The new feature offers a simple one-touch export of search results to any of the three products. Writers save countless hours of typing and understanding the requirements of scholarly publications by simply selecting the publication by name and generating a perfectly formatted document.
"The collaboration between AGent and personal bibliographic software simplifies the research experience for everyone involved -- from faculty members to students at every level," remarked Dave Kochalko, president of Thomson ResearchSoft. "EndNote, Reference Manager and ProCite can streamline and improve the research conducted by Auto-Graphics users, making the information they find easier to use and cite in their published works."
