BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Aug. 31, 2006--Delsys Inc., a leading provider of electromyography equipment, physiological sensors and data analysis programs for educational, research and medical markets announced today that the Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded it the 2006 Tibbetts Award. A privately-held company, Delsys's rapid growth and success were fueled by funding from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.

Named for Roland Tibbetts, father of the SBIR program, this prestigious national award is made annually to those firms judged to exemplify excellence in SBIR achievement.

"We are honored that the SBIR office has recognized Delsys with this prestigious award," said Professor Carlo J. De Luca, founder and President and CEO of Delsys, Inc. "We are building our company on three basic principles: facilitating growth by innovation, focusing on key markets, and expanding new uses of our existing patented biosensor technology via collaboration with partners such as Advanced Bionics, a Boston Scientific Company."

Bob Crowley, President of Massachusetts Technology Development Corporation who nominated Delsys for the award said, "Delsys embodies the essence of the SBIR program and a success story that makes every Massachusetts medical equipment maker proud."
