NEW YORK--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sept. 12, 2006--

WHAT:
Join some of the top emerging artists on the college music scene, along with VJs and executives from mtvU (MTVs 24-hour college network), as they participate in an open Q&A with student journalists nationwide to discuss the 2006 mtvU Woodie Awards.  The Woodies are the only awards honoring the music voted best by the college audience and this is a chance for student writers, radio DJs and bloggers to speak with some of the up-and-coming acts poised to break big at this years show.  During its first two years, college students have established the mtvU Woodie Awards as a crystal ball for the music of tomorrow helping to launch the careers of winners like Fall Out Boy, the Killers and the Afters.  Winners are entirely determined by student voting on mtvU.com and mtvU Mobile; the 2006 Woodies voting deadline is October 20, 2006.
