MONTVALE, N.J.--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Sept. 14, 2006--As the leading voice of the global management accounting profession, the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is pleased to announce the Seventh Annual Student Leadership Conference to be held November 9-11 at the Marriott Cleveland Downtown at Key Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  Building on the success of the 2005 Student Leadership Conference, this years conference will provide students with opportunities to network with experienced practitioners, attend educational sessions, become familiar with industry trends, learn the value of the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential, and gain access to career management tools.

Conference activities will begin with a welcoming reception and registration followed by a private tour of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, hosted by the IMA Ohio regional council.  An all-new lineup of general and concurrent sessions and in-depth workshops will address management accounting topics ranging from leadership and ethics to career development and risk management.  Keynote speakers will include: Robert J. Kohlhepp, Vice Chairman of Cintas Corporation and Dr. Marc Epstein, Distinguished Research Professor of Management at Rice University.

Students who are looking to become the future leaders of the profession should take advantage of the wealth of information that is offered at the Student Leadership Conference said Paul Sharman, president and CEO, IMA.  IMA strongly believes in making available every possible resource to best prepare our student members for a successful career in accounting and finance.  This includes training not formally offered in traditional higher education programs.

Registration is open now through October 20.  Special room rates have been negotiated for conference attendees in limited quantity at the Marriott Cleveland Downtown until October 18.  For more information or to register online, please visit www.imanet.org/student_conference.asp.
