Jordana Spiro Heads Ensemble Cast That Includes Jim Gaffigan, Kyle Howard, Reid Scott, Michael Bunin, Jamie Kaler and Kellee Stewart; Series to Premiere Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT); Screeners and Interview Opportunities Available for College Newspapers

ATLANTA--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Nov. 1, 2006--Every college student knows that one of the keys to finding the perfect date is hanging out with the right crowd.  So when a girl enjoys hanging out with the guys playing poker, participating in a pick-up softball game, watching sports or just hanging out with friends at a favorite bar, it can have an impact on her dating life.  Thats what happens to PJ Franklin, played by Jordana Spiro (JAG, Must Love Dogs), when this unabashed, sports-loving girl goes looking for romance in TBSs new original comedy series MY BOYS.  The series co-stars popular stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan (That 70s Show, Ed), along with Kyle Howard (Related, Orange County), Reid Scott (American Dreams), Michael Bunin (Scrubs), Jamie Kaler (The Family Stone) and Kellee Stewart (Guess Who?).  MY BOYS premieres Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).

PJ Franklin (Spiro) is a 20-something sports reporter for a Chicago newspaper.  At first glance, shes a typical young single woman:  smart, attractive, outgoing and personable.  But she doesnt like playing the dating game.  Instead, she loves sports, beer, poker and hanging out with the guys.  Her boys are her family, which sometimes hinders PJs dating life, as the men she tries to date dont know how to react to her unconventional interests and the all-important men in her life.

PJs group of friends includes her brother, Andy (Gaffigan), whose wife keeps him on an all-too-short leash; Mike (Kaler), a commitment-challenged ladies man who works for the Chicago Cubs; Kenny (Bunin), a sports-memorabilia store owner who hasnt mastered the art of dating; and Brendan (Scott), a hard-rock DJ whose on-again, off-again romance with his girlfriend often leaves him crashing at PJs apartment; and the most recent addition to the group, Bobby (Howard), a sportswriter for a rival newspaper.  PJs friend Stephanie (Stewart), who shes known since journalism school, does her best to give PJ advice on men and dating from a more traditional female point of view.

Being a comedy writer, I live in a very male-dominated world, said Betsy Thomas, creator and executive producer of MY BOYS.  I am very much one of the guys, and I dont understand the way some women act.  PJ is very much the same way.  When she goes on a date, she eats.  She doesnt order a salad and pick at it.  She orders a martini and a steak.  Shes not a game player.  In addition, you cant learn more about women without learning more about men and vice versa.  Fortunately or unfortunately, we are intertwined.  We are going to be doing a lot of stories about the men in PJs life and their relationships with each other and dating, and showing how real men live.

MY BOYS comes to TBS from Pariah and 2 Out Rally in association with Sony Pictures Television.  It is being executive-produced by Jamie Tarses, Gavin Polone (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Gilmore Girls) and Betsy Thomas (Run of the House).
