BRASSRINGCAMPUS.COM`s CAREER AND TALK SECTIONS DELIVER REAL WORLD ADVICE ABOUT
GRAD SCHOOL
CHICAGO--(COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Nov. 14, 2000--Are you wondering what it`s like to deliver a baby, conduct cancer research, or learn case law -- just a few years after you graduate from college? Get answers to those questions and others about the realities of law school, medical school and graduate school at BrassRingCampus.com.
In celebration of the launch of its new grad school section, BrassRingCampus.com is connecting undergraduate students around the world with three current grad school students who will answer questions directly about their experiences.
Starting tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 14, (7 p.m. EST) and continuing through Friday, Nov. 17, a conversation and Q&A; session will take place in BrassRingCampus.com`s interactive discussion area, Talk. Anyone can post messages and follow the conversation at http://www.BrassRingCampus.com/go.asp?name=gradschooltalk
The students -- medical student Shannon MacLaughlan, biology grad student Meredith Preuss, and law student Julie Siefkas -- will offer advice and answer questions about their programs, the process of applying and a lot more.
MacLaughlan, 24, is in her third year of medical school at the University of Florida, pursuing an M.D, and is currently seeing patients. Preuss, 25, is in her fourth year of working toward her PhD in free radical and radiation biology at the University of Iowa. Siefkas, 24, just began her second year of law school at the Levin College of Law, also at the University of Florida, where she`s pursuing her J.D.
BrassRingCampus.com community producer Andy Dehnart will moderate the event. Dehnart, 23, is also a grad school student; he`s currently finishing his first semester in nonfiction writing at Bennington College, where he`s pursing an MFA.
``This is a great opportunity to directly ask questions of current students who can give you the answers glossy viewbooks can`t,`` Dehnart said. ``Plus, this interactive discussion is a perfect complement to our robust grad school content.``
Last month`s popular inaugural Talk event featured two career service office directors answering questions about job hunting and more.
The new grad school section in the Career channel at BrassRingCampus.com offers essays, advice and more. Topics include the difference between full-time and part-time grad school programs, what to do with your degree, what an MBA can do for your career, and why you might want to consider becoming a CPA.
