MediaTrip and Ford Focus Want to Turn Your School Video Project Into Hard Cash

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE via COLLEGIATE PRESSWIRE)--Feb 21, 2001--

THE ASSIGNMENT: The ''Focus in Film'' Contest will have students Make a 2 - 5 minute video and submit it to be voted on by the MediaTrip.com community. Creatively, it is up to the artist, however, the short must begin with a man and a woman having a conversation on a bench, and end with the same man standing in a parking lot. There`s only one catch, at some point during the film, a Ford Focus must be shown, driven, ridden in, or discussed. Visit www.mediatrip.com/campustrip for full details, rules and regulations.

THE PRIZE: The $15,000 grand prize will be awarded to the winning filmmaker. In addition, MediaTrip will set a meeting for you with a development executive from a major Hollywood studio. So grab your camera, and Focus on Films.

THE GUIDELINES: The short cannot contain any of the following: Nudity, Excessive Profanity, Graphic Violence, or Strong Sexual Themes.

TO SUBMIT: Shorts made on digital video can be uploaded to the CampusTrip Web site by completing the required registration forms and completing the posting steps online. Filmmakers who are not able to upload their short can submit a video (VHS or Beta) copy of their film directly to MediaTrip, Attn: Focus in Films at the following address:

11111 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 300 Los Angeles, CA 90025.

Films submitted via mail will not be accepted without a completed submission form. Submission forms are available at www.mediatrip.com/campustrip.

WHEN: Now! Send in or upload your videos from now until June 15, 2001. The grand prize-winner will be selected on July 13, 2001.

HOW TO WIN: Once submitted to the site, the shorts will be viewed and voted on by visitors to the CampusTrip site. If you have access to a computer, then you qualify as a visitor.

In other words, filmmakers can vote on their own film! Users are encouraged, as always, to vote for their favorite film(s). Ten finalists will be selected. These finalists will then be judged by a panel of representatives from Ford and MediaTrip, who will jointly choose the grand prize-winner.
